game night
Wednesday evening is family night in the
Kress household and the kids take turns
picking the game of the week. Marla
didn’t want to forget how much fun
these game nights can be so she
captured a night of Skip-bo on this
well-designed page.
Die cut arrows add motion to Marla’s
page, reinforcing the fast-paced nature
of the Skip-bo game. She also trimmed
out a piece of patterned paper that
looks similar to a board game, bolstering
the game theme. Finally, three great
photos show a family having loads of
fun. Who wouldn’t want to remember
that?
Marla’s tips for
game pages
Take yourself out of the game so that you can shoot photos of each
opponents cards. You don’t want to be accused of cheating
!
Take close-up photos of the game pieces, especially when playing
board games.
Paper piece recreations of some of the game components, like the
property cards in Monopoly or the dice in Yahtzee.
Be sure to jot down notes during the game, like what your children
say, what everyone is snacking on, and other small details.
