Lynn’s Thanksgiving page has all the
earmarks of a traditional holiday layout,
but when you read the journaling you’ll
discover that she focused on all of the
wonderful food her mother prepares
every year.
Rather than creating an “event” page
about a holiday gathering, zero in on one
main subject from the celebration. Here
are a few ideas to get you started: the
weather that day, the games you may
have played, what everyone was wearing,
what music was playing, who was missing
from the gathering, what single tradition
took place.
When you have a lot of photos that do
not coordinate very well, convert a few
to black and white, keeping your favourite
photo in colour. Lynn did this on her page
and her focal photo really pops.
Tell a funny joke to get everyone smiling, but don’t take the
photo right away. A brief pause will let the humour settle in
and everyone will smile even bigger.
Remember why you are all together and take photos of what
you want to treasure most.
Hang out in the kitchen and take before and after shots of all
the wonderful food going in and out of the oven.
Most importantly, have fun
!
