Using Happy Colors
When you think of Stacy Julian, there is no doubt you think colour, fun, bright and happy. We were thrilled at CHA to see Stacy and Core'dinations develop a paper that is all those things. We even made it a top 10 Most Wanted in our latest fall issue which you can see here! We asked Stacy to join us on the blog to tell us a little more about colour (lol...or colour!) and share a new layout using the "Happy Colors" collection...
"Color is the language of emotion"
I remember exactly where I was standing when I first heard those words. I knew they were true and I knew that understanding and internalizing them would change the way I create. I am now much less worried about which colors "go" with my pictures or even which colors "go" with my colors. I simply start with a color that speaks the emotion that I'm trying to convey by scrapbooking my memory and my pages come together--almost effortlessly.

This is why I'm so delighted that Core'dinations said YES when I wondered whether they would like to put together a Core Impressions collection of colors that communicate happiness. My brand NEW Happy Colors collection are not only my happy colors, but colors which universally suggest the ideas and emotions embossed on them. If you love color and texture and words, you'll love this paper.

Here's a page idea to try:
1. Find a photo you love.
2. Select a sheet of Happy Colors cardstock that "feels" like your photo.
3. Isolate a word that is descriptive of the person, place or event you are honoring.
4. Cut this word out (I used a craft knife) leaving a window.
5. Position the embossed cardstock on another full sheet of cardstock, as a foundation.
6. Position your photo and add a title. Arrange decorative elements and embellishments so that they include the word you cut out.
7. Add handwritten journaling that completes the message of your layout.
I can't wait for you to get your hands on this paper ... it's FUN!"
