Something Special - Spring 2009

Sage's Counting Book
by Leigh Penner, Morden, MB
We just loved Leigh Penner’s counting book that she created for her daughter, Sage. We knew that some of you would want to re-create it for your own special little people, so we have included Leigh’s list of supplies, images of the additional pages that were not shown in the spring issue, as well as instructions. Have fun!

instructions:
- Cut pieces of chipboard to 6 x 6 ” and round the outside corners.
- Cut pieces and shapes from patterned paper to make the “scenes;” adhere them to the 6 x 6 “ background. Stitch in place if desired.
- Stamp images onto patterned paper and cut out with a craft knife. Again, stitch in place if desired.
- For the houses and tree trunks, cut the shapes from chipboard; adhere to patterned paper. Using a craft knife, cut the patterned paper to fit the chipboard.
- Be creative and use your scraps.
- Round the outside corners of the completed pages. Adhere to chipboard backgrounds—back to back.
- Punch 3 holes and use binder rings to keep the book together
