something special
the end
The word “special” can be defined as something that is just a little bit unique
and made with a specific purpose in mind. This issue’s project is no exception
and will undoubtedly be treasured for years to come.
With the help of  foam adhesive,
Izzy  created a lot of depth and
dimension inside her frame. We
thought the googley  eyes were the
perfect touch on those cute  owls!

I love owls and am always happy to see
how popular they are in papercrafting
!
For this frame, I decided to make my
own feathery friends. I hand-drew each
owl, then broke them down into pieces
that I traced onto patterned paper. I
reassembled the pieces, adding googley
eyes and sewing details, then perched
them on a paper branch.
This project also features a bit of burlap,
cork and wood, which gives it a real
natural, woodsy feel. I love how it looks
on the wall in my family room. Whatever
critter you are fond of, give this paper
piecing idea a try
!
