Fabric and Ribbon Blossoms

I love that in scrapbooking, you can use just about anything to make your own flowers. So today, I'm going to show you how to use fabric and ribbon to make your own blossoms.

supplies:
ribbon or fabric
thread
needle
center embellishment (brads, buttons, etc.)

Step One:
Gather your supplies.

Step Two:
Stitch down one side of your strip of ribbon or fabric. Make sure you knot the end of the string. You'll want to use a straight running stitch.

Step Three:
Pull the string and watch your ribbon gather. Pull it slowly until it gathers into a flower shape. Secure the end of your thread by stitching a few times through the center of your flower. If your free end is not stitching together, use a small glue dot to hold the flapping ends together.

Step Four:
Decorate the center of your flower with the embellishments of your choice. The pinked edge on the fabric flower was already part of the edge of the fabric but you can pink the edges of your fabric before you make your flower too!
