Celeste Smith

Q. How did you get started scrapbooking?
A teacher was leaving my son's pre-school and we were all asked to create pages for an goodbye album. One page and I was hooked!
Q. Where do you draw the most inspiration from?
I find a lot of inspiration at various design blogs and galleries. I enjoy perusing the gallery at Two Peas most days and my blogr oll is enormous!
Q. What is your favourite colour combination right now?
I love turquoise blue, orange and red right now. The Jenni Bowlin April Dime Store kit is filled with this color combination. I find myself mixing and matching these colors lately.
Q. Can you share any design secrets?
I've been digital scrapbooking a lot lately. One of the techniques I'm employing a lot lately is going back into my albums and scraplifting my own work usually with a new spin - rotating the design, changing up colors, replacing single photo pages with multi-photo pages. I figure I liked the design before, why not refresh it a bit!
Q. What are you favourite scrapbook supplies right now?
There are so many options right now for me because I'm scrapbooking with both paper and digitally. This last CHA is breaking the bank at my house - I love the new Be Our Guest collection from Jenni Bowlin as well as Daily Junque from Pink Paisle. I think I bought every piece of the two new Studio Calico collections. I tend to lean towards lines with a vintage-y flair. For Digital supplies, I am in love with Jenn Barrette at Sweet Shoppe Designs, Polka Dot Pixels at Two Peas in a Bucket, Gennifer Bursett at Design House Digital and Splendid Fiins at jessicasprague.com
Q. Tell us about a typical day in Celeste's life!
I get up really early in the morning around 5:30am and I'm out the door by 6:30am. I work for a large insurance company as a Competitive Analyst. I'm there until 4pm. I pick up my boys, do the homework/dinner shuffle and then I go for a long walk. After that we usually do something as a family, play in the yard or board games. After I put the kids to bed, I spend time online and usually do some scrapbooking.
We asked Celeste to share one of her recent favourite layouts. What a beautiful layout! The focus on the instrument and her son's hands tell a story all on their own.
