Hello, everyone!

Welcome to July, the super hot (already!) Summer, and the next installment of my "Old New Borrowed Cool" series. Thank you so much for having me back and joining me once again! I am having a hard time believing it’s already July and that half the year has gone! Yet I am thrilled it’s Summer as I adore the pool parties, festivities and celebrations that come with the warmer weather and look forward to it all year long. I love getting together with friends, having BBQs and cookouts and generally enjoying the more relaxed pace and longer days that come with this time of year. Yes, I LOVE JULY!!
But even more than all the fun and frilly stuff, the month of July for me means showing my pride in my country, proudly supporting our amazing military who provide our freedoms and being ever so appreciative to live where those freedoms are looked at as a RIGHT. Part of the way I choose to show my patriotism is by displaying the colors of our flag wherever I can. I have buntings up across my porch, a large flag hanging from a pole and even the colors in my flower beds are red, white and blue! The way I see it, you can never have too much of a good thing!

So today for this month’s OLD NEW BORROWED COOL, we’re doing a tribute to our country and making a fun little star-themed banner that I came across at Martha Stewart.com. I loved Martha’s basic banner, but I thought to myself, “Self? How fun would this banner be to jazz up with a little double-sided cardstock and some fun punches?!” And so that’s exactly what I did!

As always before I get started I want to recap once more about the premise for this blog series. Each month I'll bring you a new post that incorporates something OLD from my stash, something NEW that I might have just picked up and something  BORROWED from wherever I can get it to create something COOL to share with you! It's as simple as that.

This month's selections were:

OLD: My old bone folder! (ha!) and some “slightly” older BasicGrey PB&J papers

NEW: Paper from Heidi Swapp’s new Memory File line as well as new Stampin’ Up! papers

BORROWED: A fabulous, fun idea from Martha Stewart on how to make star medallions. Let’s face it – we all secretly want to be Martha!

COOL: This bright, colorful, patriotic banner perfect for helping to celebrate the country you love!

Supply List: BasicGrey, Stampin’ Up! and Heidi Swapp patterned papers; Bazzill Cardstock; BasicGrey brads; Martha Stewart sunburst punch; Fiskars star punch; Other: Twine, Adhesive, Scissors, Pencil, Stapler, Bone folder,1/8” hole punch

I hope you enjoyed this addition of “Old New Borrowed Cool”!  I love bringing you something fun each month and this one was one of my favorites! This month’s challenge to you is to create something festive to help celebrate your patriotism whether it be a banner like mine, a beautiful scrapbook page or even some colorful cupcakes (as long as you share them with me)!
